USF also had a trio of players - Kristina Fabris, Johari Williams and Marcela Gurgel - finish with double-digits kills, while the Bulls tallied 65 kills for a .301 attack percentage. Fabris led all players with a 21 kills and a .528 attack percentage, while Stephanie Augustavo led the defense with 19 digs.
The Blue Demons jumped out to a 13-11 lead in game one on senior Ellen Hayes kill, but the Bulls put together an 8-0 run to steal the Blue Demons momentum. USF went on to win the first game 30-21.
DePaul hit an impressive .346 to win the second frame 30-24. Seniors Morgan Ingersoll and Hayes guided the Blue Demons offense with six and five, respectively. The two teams fought through five ties before the Blue Demons took a 24-22 lead on a USF attack error. Ingersoll served up the next five points and the Blue Demons won the game on a Bulls hitting error.
USF took control of the match in the third and fourth games, holding the Blue Demons to 15 and 17 points in the final frames. USF combined for 34 kills in the final sets while DePaul registered just 22 kills.
Ingersoll led the Blue Demons with 17 kills while Hayes and sophomore Cristina Correa chipped in 14 and 11 kills, respectively. Correa paced DePaul with a .273 attack percentage and registered four block assists. Hayes led DePaul's defense with 13 digs and sophomore Caitlin Callaghan tallied 10 digs.
