Christy Landschoot: sports blog Nov. 4
Hey everyone! Happy November! I hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween weekend! To celebrate Halloween, a few teammates and friends and I went to see a scary movie. We saw Quarantine on Friday night, which ended up being more gory than scary. We still had fun though! We also went to the DePaul women’s basketball game last Friday. They played an exhibition game against St. Xavier. They did really well! I am excited to go to more games once their season gets going. Go Blue!! We had two BIG EAST Conference matches last weekend. Saturday we played Marquette at home. In a very close five-set match, we won 15-12 in the fifth set. It was a lot of fun! We worked really hard at practice all week, and I am glad it helped us grab another conference win. After the match on Saturday, I went out to dinner with my mom and brother who came to watch. Then, I headed back to my room to get some rest for Sunday’s match against Syracuse. The match on Sunday was also a very close one. We ended up losing in five sets to Syracuse. After the match, the whole team went out to dinner together. It was also Mattie (Boyd’s) birthday, so that was exciting (Happy Birthday Mattie!). I spent the rest of the night doing homework and then went to bed early after the busy weekend. This week is also going to be busy, with a home game tonight at 7 p.m. versus Valparaiso. Then we only have one practice before we leave for Rutgers on Thursday. We play Rutgers in New Jersey on Friday night. I hope everyone has a great week! GO BLUE!! Christy
