CHICAGO - DePaul volleyball head coach Nadia Edwards announced on Friday that JaQuayla Baker has signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the program for the 2013 season.

"I'm very excited to add JaQuayla to our team next year. I think she is going to be a fantastic addition to the team we have coming back," said head coach Nadia Edwards. "Just in terms of the recruiting process and finding out a little bit more about her, she's a dynamic player and she has the ability to run off one foot and is going to be a very athletic player for us."

A 6-foot-2 middle hitter from Memphis, Tenn., Baker will come to DePaul from White Station High School where she was an All-Metro pick as a junior and senior.

As a senior, she won Most Outstanding Player honors in the Memphis Interscholastic Athletic Association and also earned a District 16-AAA MVP Award. She led her team to an undefeated (10-0) record in league play and 26 wins overall.

On September 24, she had a career-high 26 kills and 11 blocks in a match versus Harding Academy.

The Blue Demons finished the 2012 season 10-18 and won a program record five BIG EAST matches. Next year's team will return all but one starter.
