Christy Landschoot: sports blog Nov. 20
Hey everyone! Volleyball season has come to a close, but we definitely went out with a bang by beating St. John’s in four sets on Sunday! It was Caito’s (Caitlin Callaghan) Senior Day and the last match of the season. St. John’s won a share of the BIG EAST Conference regular season title and is the No. 1 seed for the Championship this week. Heading into the tournament St. John’s only losses are to Marquette and us. It was great to beat the number one team in conference. After the match, a little celebration was held for Caito. We had dinner and presented a slideshow that the team made of pictures of Caito throughout her volleyball career. Everyone had a lot of fun, and it was a great way to finalize the season. We will miss you Caito! Tuesday was the last day of classes, so I only have two finals left until fall quarter is over. I am so excited for the holidays and to see my friends and family at home. I will miss DePaul though, so I am sure I will be around a lot over break! Thanks so much to everyone who came to support the volleyball team throughout this season! It was great having fans at the matches, and I hope you enjoyed watching us play! I am already excited to get back in the gym in the off-season so we can come out ready for next year!
