DePaul students can always get in the game!
Important Message For DePaul Students
The State of Illinois prohibits the sale, use or possession of all forms of alcoholic beverages by persons under 21 years of age. Students may not illegally use, sell, possess or distribute any substance prohibited by state law, federal law, or other applicable law on University-owned or -controlled property. Students are responsible for adhering to the university Drug Free Workplace & Legal Drinking Age Compliance policy when attending DePaul athletic events at both on-campus and off-campus sites.
In an effort to assure proper fan behavior as well as maintain a safe and memorable experience, the DePaul athletics department and the BIG EAST Conference would like to provide you with these friendly reminders.
Proper sportsmanship among student-athletes, coaches, fans and students is not only important but expected. Comments made which could be perceived as derogatory or slanderous towards student-athletes, officials, coaches as well as your fellow fans will not be tolerated and could be cause for removal from the competition site.
In addition, storming the court after an exciting victory has become dangerous for students, fans, student-athletes, coaches and staff. DePaul University has worked closely with Wintrust Arena personnel to ensure everything is being done to protect the safety of student-athletes, officials, coaches and students. The practice of storming the court will not be tolerated as it is a serious safety issue for all spectators and staff in the arena. Fans who fail to comply with this policy will face disciplinary action.
The DePaul University athletics department asks that you comply with this BIG EAST Conference regulation as it is meant to ensure the safety of all participants and spectators.
Why was the fee created?
In the recent past, many DePaul students have avidly followed the Blue Demons and taken advantage of relatively low ticket prices. Other students felt they should not spend dollars on "entertainment," not realizing that they were also missing an important part of the university experience.
Every student is part of the DePaul community. Group activities foster that bond and help students network and forge friendships across academic programs and degree levels. The intent of the fee is to encourage as many students as possible to attend games and spirit-building activities.
